HAIR PRODUCTS THAT I CONTINUE TO BUY
( + products I’ve been eyeing)
As most of you know, I practically *live off of* dry shampoo because of my hospital lifestyle. So, I’ve probably tested out every dry shampoo on the market because of that, Lol. My absolute #1 favorite is Dry Bar’s Detox (pictured #3) – It can revive hair that truly looks like an oily mess & will hold this look all day. But it is one of the more expensive dry shampoo’s, so I’ve tried finding others, but noticed that all of the truly effective shampoo’s are definitely at a higher price point… my dry shampoo runner ups favorites are Amika ‘Perk Up’ Dry Shampoo, IGK First Class, and for the most affordable pick, it would probably have to be the Not Your Mother’s ‘Beach Babe’ Dry Shampoo at $7.
I’ve been using the Purology Hydrate line for years now and just recently began mixing in other products to switch it up a bit. With all of the hype around the Olaplex set, I was hoping to be blown away….but truthfully, I found the shampoo and conditioner to be less than impressive. Maybe it was because of my hair type in particular, because I do know people swear by it—but it just wasn’t for me! I did find a few of their hair treatments / products to be much more effective and have almost used completely (No. 3, 6, + 7) of which I’ve included in my line up because they’ve worked incredibly! The Olaplex No.3 is a concentrated treatment that strengthens the hair and meant to be used 1-2 x’s per week to damp / towel dried hair… I usually apply this before my showers and follow with the No. 6 Bond Smoother after my showers for the best smoothed-over feel, despite the FL humidity. The bonding oil is my go-to that I carefully apply only to hair ends to eliminate frizz on nights it’s freshly clean and feels extra fine – prone to frizzing up. The bonding oil doesn’t give an oily look after application, which I find most oils to do – so a win product for me.
As far as the Oribe products; I’ve been testing out the shampoo and I could immediately feel a difference with first wash—these products were recommended to me by my hairstylist & now I see why. The texturing spray is just downright amazing– It’s activated by heat for intense volume but can be used in any capacity—a sweet spot between dry shampoo volume treatment, and hairspray.
And finally, the Aquitex hair towel. This is definitely something I thought to be just a ‘well marketed’ item– gifted to me by my mom. BUT I was pleasantly surprised after using it & how fast it dried my hair. It’s actual purpose is to reduce the time spent drying hair to a damp state with less heat and damage to hair vs. a standard bath towel which often causes breakage and pulls hair cuticles.

Hair Tools I Use:
All of my hair tools are by Lange Hair years ago, this company seems to always have a great sale running & I bought them when I was a PA student on a budget and paid a fraction of their full price listing at the time– but quite honestly, they’ve worked so well!
Lange Le Reve Blush Titanium Iron
Hair Products I’m Eyeing Right Now:
Living Proof Full Thickening Cream: This one comes highly recommended by a close friend & is known to be a lightweight cream made with thickening conditioner to give naturally full, soft hair with volume—sign me up!
Briogeo, Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Tea Tree Cooling Hydration Mask for Dry, Itchy Scalp: I’ve been noticing a lot of hair loss in the past year, while that’s likely stress-related from COVID, I’ve heard amazing reviews on this & have been wanting to purchase it for a couple of months now!
Oribe, Mini Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray
So, this product in particular blew my mind. I received it in a Sephora sample a few months back & it truly has been THE BEST styling spray I’ve ever used. No exaggeration. And like all Oribe products, the smell is literally divine. Once I decide to splurge on hair care again, this will be at the top of my list!
Dyson, Airwrap™ Styler: I mean, I haven’t seen a review that truly did not love this product…It’ll most likely be added to my wish list for Christmas because dishing out over $500 on a hair tool right now isn’t one of my top priorities, Lol
But if you’re looking for a wondrous tool that gives you the *perfect* salon level blowout, I got you babe!
Drunk Elephant TLC Happi Scalp Scrub: Another scalp scrub that I think would be helpful with amazing reviews that’s on my list!
