Hi, I’m Ashley! Thanks for visiting my site— I truly believe balancing our daily hustle is essential to create a life of success that we can’t wait to wake up to each day. This space is your daily dose of inspiration from skincare + style, to motivation + tips for future med providers.
As many of you know, we moved in to our first home during the beginning of the year!
While it was such an exciting decision, we also closed during the midst of our wedding planning so things got a bit brushed over on the social media end of things.
We decided to buy a house located in the town we both grew up and somewhere that we could envision raising our future children, grow in, and find comfort in. We both commute quite a bit to work each day, but love the property that we’re located in and find endless opportunities when it comes to our vision for this new home.
By this point, I would’ve hooped to have more ‘updates’ when it comes to our house—but it’s been such a slow process. Most of this is because of the shipping delays in pretty much every industry and the business — definitely including furniture.
So while our new house is absolutely beautiful & we truly love it so much— that ‘home’ feel has been more of a work in process. It’s still pretty scarce in furniture + décor, making that ‘home’ feeling a work in process.
Slowly but surely our furniture has been getting delivered & when it does, it’s definitely the highlight of our week when that happens! Hahaha
Below I’ve included some of our favorite pieces that we’ve purchased and love (or cannot wait to receive) for this new abode! For reference, the owners of our house previously had more of a coastal-farmhouse vibe for the interior, but the vision I have for the house now is more of a ‘neutral-modern-comfort’ type of feel…. If that’s even a décor style? Haha…you’ll eventually see what I mean.
If you can envision an open concept that blends the kitchen, living room, and a breakfast nook together – that’s our current situation. For our living room, we have so. much. wall. space. In my eyes, a lot of wall space is equivilant to a lottttt of potential! We plan to utilize some of it with a couple of these bookshelves + maybe even a gallery wall with some type of modern vibe with these frames!
The top stores we’ve found that have pieces that reflect our style best are West Elm, CB2, Arhaus, Lulu and Georgia – to name a few. Obviously, there are hidden gems basically anywhere you look…but our furniture comes primarily from those above!
CB2 is where we ended up finding this unique office desk that I might be most excited to assemble in our office—
And the Evet rug—which is currently in our living room, but may make the switch to our bedroom depending on our final look once our dresser arrives & the room is more cohesive to its actual look. Right now, we’re still using a dresser that I bought in college from Ikea and it definitely doesn’t match the overall vibe, Lol.
Most of our new furniture is a light wood to help lighten the space since all of our floors are a deep walnut and make even the areas with great natural light seem a bit shaded and dark.
Our nook / dining area is the exception to this with our new mango wood dining table from West Elm.
Keep an eye out for more home updates and posts that will venture into more detail—but for now, the majority of our home inspiration can be found on my IG via stories or in my home highlights or over on Pinterest, here
